These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of ChapterWise, a manuscript analysis service operated by Studio Phong ("we," "us," or "our"). By using our service, you agree to these terms. We've designed these terms to be fair to both writers and our platform.
Your Creative Ownership Rights
Full Ownership: You retain complete ownership and copyright of all manuscripts, stories, and creative content you upload.
No Claims: ChapterWise makes no claim to your intellectual property and never will.
Instant Deletion: You can delete your content at any time, and it will be permanently removed from our systems.
Private by Default: All your content is private unless you explicitly enable sharing or public access.
License Grant to ChapterWise
What You're Granting Us
To provide our services effectively, you grant ChapterWise a limited, non-exclusive, revocable license to:
- • Store and Backup: Maintain secure backups of your content to prevent data loss
- • Process and Analyze: Run AI analysis on your manuscripts to provide insights
- • Display to You: Show your content back to you through our web interface
- • Serve Public Content: If you explicitly enable sharing, display your content to others as directed by you
What This License Does NOT Include
- ✗ No rights to publish, sell, or commercialize your work
- ✗ No rights to create derivative works
- ✗ No rights to use your content for AI training
- ✗ No rights to share with third parties without your permission
- ✗ This license automatically terminates when you delete content

GitHub Project Integration
Repository Access and Permissions
When you connect a GitHub repository to ChapterWise Codex, you explicitly grant us permission to:
- • Read Access: Clone and read files from the specific repositories you authorize
- • Sync Updates: Receive webhook notifications when you push changes to your repository
- • Serve Content: Display repository files (codex files, markdown, images) through our interface
- • Local Storage: Store a local copy of your repository on our servers for fast access and serving
Your Control Rights
- • Revoke access at any time through GitHub settings
- • Delete project connection in ChapterWise dashboard
- • Choose which repositories to share (per-repo authorization)
- • Repository remains under your full ownership and control
Permanent Deletion Guarantee
- • When you disconnect a GitHub project, we immediately stop syncing
- • All local copies are permanently deleted from our servers
- • Deletion is irreversible and complete
- • No residual data remains in backups after 24 hours
Important: GitHub Project integration uses the GitHub Apps API. ChapterWise can only access repositories you explicitly authorize. We never have access to your entire GitHub account or other repositories. You can audit and revoke permissions at any time through your GitHub account settings.
Your Responsibilities
Acceptable Use
You agree to use ChapterWise only for legitimate manuscript analysis purposes. You will not:
- • Upload content that violates copyright or contains illegal material
- • Attempt to reverse engineer our analysis algorithms
- • Share account credentials or abuse our credit system
- • Use the service to harass, spam, or harm others
Content Responsibility
You confirm that you own or have the right to analyze any content you upload. You're responsible for ensuring your content doesn't violate any laws or third-party rights.
Credits and Payment
Credit System
ChapterWise operates on a credit-based system. Credits are consumed when you request manuscript analysis. Pricing is transparent and shown before each analysis.
Payment Terms
- • All payments are processed securely
- • Credits are non-refundable once purchased
- • Unused credits don't expire
- • Pricing may change with 30 days notice
Refund Policy
- • Technical failures: Full credit refund
- • Service unavailable: Credit restoration
- • Unsatisfactory analysis: Case-by-case review
- • Disputed charges: Contact support within 14 days
Data Protection Guarantees
Absolute Confidentiality
Your manuscripts are never shared, sold, or used for training AI models. We commit to absolute confidentiality of your creative work. Any violation of this commitment would constitute a material breach of these terms.

Liability and Disclaimers
Service Disclaimer
ChapterWise provides analysis tools "as is." While we strive for accuracy, AI analysis is inherently subjective. We make no guarantees about the quality, accuracy, or usefulness of analysis results.
Limitation of Liability
Our liability is limited to the amount you paid for credits in the past 12 months, except in cases of:
- • Data breach: Unlimited liability for unauthorized disclosure of your manuscripts
- • Willful misconduct: If we intentionally violate these terms
- • Gross negligence: Reckless disregard for your data security
Account Termination
Your Right to Leave
- • Delete your account anytime
- • Download all your analysis data first
- • Immediate removal of all content
- • No questions asked policy
When We May Terminate

Dispute Resolution

Changes to These Terms
